Topher considers himself Starry Cross’ resident heathen. A self-avowed atheist, Topher is a classic case of a pilgrim in a strange land. He is the only child of hard core evangelical Christians who send him to Starry Cross as a conversion tactic. His frst year, Topher did everything possible to try and get expelled from SCA, but Rev. Jacobi and Dr. Seong realized the motive for his acting our and found alternative disciplinary courses. One of which, being conscription into service as Professor Jacobi’s teacher’s assistant. Deep down in his heart, Topher is quite fond of Professor Jacobi and Dr. Seong, and sees them as surrogate parents, but only knows how to show it with contempt and acting out, as he deals with the hurt of the rejection he feels from his real parents who despise his rejection of Christianity.
