Dr. Felix Badibanga
President Dr. Felix Badibanga is the second elected President of the Interplanetary Union since its inception in 2061. Felix, a descendant of Kenyans who left earth in the Great Exodus of 2045, when
E1 became uninhabitable, was raised on the terraform, New Cush by scholarly parents who pushed him from a young age toward an academic, and then political career.
Felix and his wife reside on E2 in the capital city of the IPU, Humanity. Their only child, Tshibola, was the wife of famed Race Wars veteran, Mars Jacobi, until she was killed shortly after the ratification of the Interplanetary Peace Accord of 2065 in a failed assassination attempt on Mars himself.
Felix has a strained relationship with his son-in-law since, even before Bola's death, he regarded Mars as not-quite-good-enough for his daughter, and since, has made no secret that he blames Mars' radical outspokeness for making his daughter a political casualty. This estrangement extends to Felix's three grandsons, and yet somehow seems to have passed over his only granddaughter, Russia, in whom he sees so much of Bola.
Felix is a confident and highly respected leader whom many believe will take a second term of office in a landslide victory.
